I am a warm, professional, highly skilled, experienced, collaborative, and client-centred psychologist who holds deep respect for each individual’s unique journey. I strive to create a safe and compassionate space where you will feel heard, empowered, and supported in your healing and personal growth.
My practice is grounded in evidence-based approaches and guided by a trauma-sensitive lens. I will work closely with you to explore your experiences, build on your strengths, and support meaningful growth and healing.
Although I am new to the Australian mental health system, I bring with me extensive clinical experience from India, where I trained and worked as a clinical Psychologist for 14 years, across diverse settings including private practice, NGOs, corporate environments, and community-based programs. My goal is to integrate this experience into culturally sensitive and ethically grounded care that aligns with best practices in Australia. I am currently working towards full registration and Medicare provider status here.
I and the team at ST & A Psychology North Sydney and Northern Beaches are passionate about preventing you, as our client, from dropping out of therapy prematurely (before you have done the work to get well, stay well and prevent relapsing into previous patterns of unhelpful behaviours/dysfunction or issues which you had previously learnt to manage better through therapy and new psychological skills learnt. By focusing on this with you and all of our clients, we help people…well, to obtain improved outcomes from therapy and maintain those improved outcomes at follow up. The average number of sessions clients attend psychological therapy for in Australia is just 5 sessions. Research informs us that for 50% of clients in therapy to get well and stay well, they require 13-18 sessions on average. For the remaining 50% of clients to improve (reduce their symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, improve their satisfaction with life and sustain their change in unhelpful behaviours (maintain their improvement over time), more than 18 sessions is required. On average our clients attend for 15 sessions of therapy. By focusing on this goal together, we can help you achieve better therapy outcomes and sustain those improvements over time. We want to ensure that you have the opportunity to fully engage in the work needed to heal, maintain your well-being, and avoid falling back into previous patterns of unhelpful behaviours or issues that you have learned to manage through therapy and the new psychological skills you’ve acquired.
